Shivani

Shiv is a queer, non-binary, polyamorous, immigrant, survivor who is dedicated to envisioning a future with Trauma Informed (TI) Abolition. They are currently the team lead of Trauma Informed San Jose, work as a TI consultant for several immigration pro bono firms, conduct Know Your Rights workshops for the undocumented community, and have experience fundraising for non-profits for housing equity and survivor advocacy.

They’ve been an advocate, educator, and facilitator for issues pertaining Sexual Assault & Intimate Partner Violence and a focus on BIPOC/QTPOC support for 9 years.

They are committed to addressing the impact over the intent, transformative healing and justice, and intersectionally minded advocacy. They believe we can dismantle systems of oppressions and create safe communities without resorting to punitive carceral logic.

Committed to constant (un)learning, transparency, consideration, and accountability, Shiv hopes to continue to do their part in building a safer world for current and future generations.

Shiv also works as a freelance graphic and social marketing manager for several abolitionist and intersectional healing justice organizations.

In their free time, Shiv loves to sing, write poetry, short stories, paint, dance, and be in and around water and wilderness and playing with their inner child in mirthful warm mushy moments. They love slow and patient conversations that respect the depth of the worlds nuanced truths.
